To all the vets new and old here... Happy Memorial Day
I just want to express my gratitude for those that served and those that were lost. Regardless of war wether it was good or bad ( I feel they all were bad and uncalled for) Thank-you for fighting for our rights and keeping the hope alive.
I'm watching the news right now and I'm not seeing any info on parades and memorials. I'm in NJ now. When I was in CT, there were parades in most towns on the shoreline. The towns honored the troops past and present... Not sure if it's a New England thing....okay just saw that there are some...that's better..I guess I'm too removed from the locals.. My Nephew was killed by an IED in Iraq 4 years ago. 3 years ago today, I planted 3 green Arbor Vitae trees in his honor, on the side of my house. It's a nice way to remember Him. I think about him instantly, every time I see those trees. I think of them as my 3 sentries, guarding my home against harm. Thank you to all who have served!

I thank all vets for your service and sacrifices. Memorial Day is not about politics, it is about people, people that made the ultimate sacrifice for their nation.

You're welcome all! As a disabled Vet, I thought of friends and buddies who didn't come home. I said a prayer of thanks, shed a tear, and hope for a future reunion with those who've gone before and helped pave the way.
